How green i'm

The global warming is an often topic in schools this days, that’s because there are many climatic changes in the world.

So many people learn about environmentally practices in schools, in the news, in TV or internet.
I have lucky because my school was very green, they teach us how to take care the environment and how important is the recycling process, every classroom had four different dump, one for the organic stuff, another for the plastic, one for the aluminum and one for the glass. In the garden was a big dump that was for throwing papers.

So now days me and my boyfriend recycle in house, sometimes we used some stuff to make crafts or others things. We made with plastic bottles little’s masseters. Also we did not have a car so we prefer to walk or to use a bike to move from one place to another, sometimes we have to use a bus but that’s because some distances are very long and we need to get faster.

I don’t joined to any eco-organizations, actually I don’t like any kind of organizations I think that’s because most of them forget the main point why they former the organization and the only thing they want is power. Others organization I like it but I think I have not found the right one for me yet.

I think there is a lot to do yet to make a conscience about the topic, not all schools in Santiago and Chile generally touch the topic because they prefer to spend time teaching math, language or science because that are subjects that will help students to make money but they forget that if we don’t take care our environment we can’t live.

So maybe is important that the state makes sure that schools make some time to explain children why we have to care our planet, and the importance of the environmentally friendly practices.

South America the perfect travel

Actually I don’t want to visit just one country, I have always dreamed to travel around South America. It’s not difficult to find out about South America, it’s on the news every day and internet has a lot of information too.

I think the countries in South America have a lot of thing in common but it has lots of different things too like traditions, food, and art. They are many films that reflect how people live in South America. In Chile it is not hard to find people from the different countries of South Africa, who can tell us how they live, and the most relevant things of their countries.

To go traveling around South America I need at least like a year or two because I would like to stay in one country for a month or two so I can get to see everything eat their food, learn their traditions, see how they live, not only see the tourist part.

I’ve always thinks to make a travel like that alone because not many people want to stay so long time away from home but now I think I would like to do it with my boyfriend I know he likes this stuff too so it would be a good company.

The idea will be to save enough money for the first months and then sell thing like crafts and make the money for the rest of the travel.

Maybe is a dream but I really think that someday I will do that travel I just need save money and take the decision, every dream can come true if we fight for it.

English

Is English the most important language in the world? Now days many countries take English like the most important tool for the industrial world, for international’s job. It’s true that the United States is one of the most important world powers but it’s also true that is not the only one, so we shouldn’t take English like the most important languages in the world we should take it as one more of many existing languages on the world.

The education of this days educate not for a personal growth, it educate students to go out to the working world, so they can generate money for the state and for the country. So most schools and universities of Chile give greater importance to subjects like Math, Science, and English. We can see this in the changes in the school curriculum, where the hours of Math and Language increased. In the universities, like this one, make the English subject an elementary subject for all the careers that the university taught.

Is important to remember that the education is for a personal growth too and not only for getting a job when we get graduated, so I think that indigenous languages are so important like English. If we live here in Chile we should now languages like Mapudungun. But that kind of languages are not elementary subjects like English if you wanted to know an indigenous language you have to take an elective subject. And I think the same happens in others countries they completely obviate their indigenous, so they obviate their language too.

In the working world are others languages that are so important like English like the German or the mandarin Chinese, for naming a few. But those languages are not taught in schools, except for schools from the countries like the German school. And again if you wanted to learn them you need to hire a personal teacher.

At last I would like to say that for me the education its means more than a tool to get to have a job someday, some of us study for the pleasure of increase our knowledge so learning German, French and indigenous languages have the same importance that learning English because they can opening the same or more windows for the future.

10 Million Dollars

If I won 10 million dollars the first thing to do will be pay off the debts of my family, so they can live serenely. Then I’ll buy a flat and I’ll rent it, because I will like to get out of Chile for a very long time, but i want to have a place where to stay when i get back. Then I’d pay off my university credit I don’t want to have debts in my life, and money worries. but the most important thing for me is freeze my career and go bag packing with my boyfriend around south America, something i always dream of is traveling around the little cities in south America, see how the real people live not the tourist part, I will like to see too, but i prefer to share with the autochthonous people. Eat their typical food, drink their typical drinks. I think I would like to travel for a year or two because I want to stay in a city for a month at least.
I think I can go alone too but it would be nicer go with my boyfriend i know he likes this thing too so it wont be a problem.

So to resume I will pay off all the family debts (including mine), i'll buy a flat so i went i go back Chile have a place to stay of my own , freeze my career so i can make truth my dream, go bagpacking around south America and maybe go to north America too.

What to do and where to go in Santiago

Santiago has a lot of places to visit, so if you are here and you dont know what to do i'll help you.

first that all in Santiago are a lot of different museums, parks, theaters and places to eat.

So in first place you need to go to eat to the central market and eat all kind of seafood it's delicious, but don't hope to find glamour in that places is very tipic and popular but it's a good way to know the "real" Santiago.

in second place are the parks here are a lot of them and very beautiful too, some examples are Parque Bustamente that is located between Providencia and General Bustamente, the area is shaped by playgrounds, hiking trails, gardens and a skating rink. another park is Parque Metropolitano it's located in the Pyramid this is the largest urban park in Chile with 780 hectares. It has playgrounds and varied attractions, including the Metropolitan Zoo, the Botanical Gardens, two pools, picnic areas, cable car and a playground.

But if you want to relax and not to walk so much then you can go to the theaters i recomend the Civic Theater of Santiago located in Agustinas 794 is the cultural center of the country's oldest and fundamental stage of works from around the world. it's a really art factory.

By the end but not least is the museums, you need to go to the Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art located in Bandera 361The Museum houses a permanent exhibition called "Pre-Columbian America in Art ', and traveling exhibitions that change every year.

So this are some good places to visit if you are a foreing or a local person.

First semester 2010

The last semester was a crazy one.

In first place it was my first semester at Universidad de Chile, I was nervous because I studied kinesiology at UDD for a year and a half but I didn’t like it so I get out of there, and I decided to study something that I really like and at a good university. So I decided to study nursery education here.

I’ve meet a lot of people some of them really like me; they are lovely people who understand me, and that have the same situation than me. Another people did not like me so much but that happens anywhere so is not something new.

Even the university takes me a lot of time, I tried to make some free time too, to spend it with my friends and with the good people I meet here. Also I traveled to Sto. Domingo where my parents live because here in Stgo I really miss them, but that is something good too because when I go I realize how important is my family to me. I like to go there because is a good way to escape from the contamination of Santiago.

Also I get to know my boyfriend who studies the same career as me, and we get very good together. So when the semester has over I couldn’t be happier because my life was finally where I wanted to be.
